Education for change, Uttar Pradesh, India
The majority of girls in India are married under the age of 18, and the practice of female infanticide is still widely practiced. The females who do reach adolescence are routinely denied access to food, education, and medical care. PPES is a social and economic empowerment initiative, is providing an education that will allow women to become economically dependent and socially enlightened which, in turn, will create a society in which all children will have an opportunity to grow to their fullest potential. I documented the life of the girls in school and during their time at home, after school. These images were used from the NGO for their website and social media. www.education4change.org
