Marettimari
This is an ongoing project called Marettimari, this is how the inhabitants of Marettimo, a Sicilian island, one of the Aegadian Islands, called themselves. It focuses on portraying the lives of the island's inhabitants and their main livelihood which is fishing. Some of them were not just born or raised on the island, but decided to make a life there, despite coming from a completely different reality. The women have an important role on the island, in the past they used to sew fishing nets, and even now, they are constant support for the community.
